Telemarketer Abuse

September 8, 2008

Just last last month at the office, there was a telemarketer that has been calling me to sign-up for a credit card. I would want to have a credit card but I refused this guy to assist me on credit card application. What I know is when you work as a telemarketer, your voice should be clear, and when you talk, people must hear a professional talking (at least a little). The guy was talking like a street junky! Then I was thinking, this maybe a fraud. There is something wrong.

I wanted to know his number but I have no way of tracing him. If I didn’t entertain this guy, maybe some would. And that’s a bad story. If having a Phone Info Tracer to know the number of that guy, which seems that he is just in his own sweet home calling, then I would sure to trace him down.

I know your number!!!

September 6, 2008

I have always wish to have a Phone Lookup Scan where I can check who’s that “Prank Caller“. I hate prank callers. And sometimes, there would be prank callers who would call every midnight, and he won’t just answer any single question you ask.

So the more you hate him, the more he is having fun. And what’s to loose, you don’t know what his number. You don’t know his number, you won’t be able to trace him. So if you can tell him what his number is, and you would do action about his being nasty, I’m sure he would stop calling you.

To have certification or not?

July 26, 2008

How important is training? How important is certificate after training? What would be the benefit of training. I have some friends who ask that question. Most of them who ask that are those newly graduates, or those who are new on the career world. I myself ask that question some years ago. I do not understand why would one need trainings if he have learned the basics on the school he graduated. Why would one need certification if he is good enough and talented, and have learned a lot through work experience.

First of all, I would like to say that I am a programmer. As a programmer, I at least know what are the bad side of having an inexperience employee. Let us say on network and security administration. This is a very sensitive job because on a multi-national company (MNC), most hackers would try to break in and see how secured their systems are. And for having so many employees and computers, there might be one or more who would break the company rules. Now, if you are the owner of the company, would you want to hire someone who is inexperience? Or maybe should I ask, who do you prefer, someone who has Cisco certification and training, or someone who at least know what security is.

As years pass, I have known more and more IT people. Those with certification really got better jobs and company perks than those who has no training or certification. And if you check on the newspaper ads or on the Internet, big companies wants those people who had undergone training. Now choose what path you want.

Certified versus Non-Certified

June 28, 2008

To get certification or not, this is always one of the topics I and my IT-related friends and officemates discuss. There are some people who believe in getting certification. And some don’t.

Actually, before I do not believe in getting certification or training. I believe that experience would give me enough knowledge in the information technology world. But later on, I found out and realize how important one benefits on getting certified.

Some of my friends have Cisco certification. They actually get more salary than my other friends who are into the same job title, same field and same job description. They even get more company offers than my non-certified friends.

Then another thing, I realized that I have those simple things that I actually don’t know, very simple stuff really, but are very important. Then my friends who have trainings knows those stuff. And I was amazed how simple they are, but why I do not know them. People actually learn the basics from the training. But not only that, they would also learn how to do things efficiently and effectively. Not unlike me, who is based on experience, does do things like…”This works. That’s good enough.” But then I later found out that it seems there’s something wrong with my work. And it takes so much time and projects before I realized to do it right.

Companies tend to look for people who have gone through training and have certification. Those people with certification are like soldiers who are trained to fight the right way. They are the soldiers who have tactics and knows what to do on the war ground.

Certification is important…

June 27, 2008

It is information technology when you ask what field or career is in now a days. I have been in the software industry so I now how hard the competition is. A lot of IT related people are into training. Well, some does not believe in training. They say experience is the best. Actually, experience is the best. But first, you will get to know a lot of things from training. I and some of my friends have experience and see that people with training on such field knows something simple but very important compare to us. Experience does keeps you going. But training makes you do it the right way.

Speaking about training, I have envy those who are good at harware and networking. I really am dumb on those stuff. I have even friends with Cisco certification who are really into the “good life” because of the high salary and excellent perks they receive on their job. I guess having training and have certification on something does increase your career value. Okay, I know a little about networking. But I can not actually be on the job regarding networking, or even help my officemates on the hardware and stuff. I am sure to just mess things around.

So I hope one day I will have trainings. I know I will learn on the training more. And I would learn on that training, simple maybe as it is, but I’m sure many of those, I would not actually know on experience. So If you are into the techy world, you might want certification and training.
