Mesothelioma Patient, Claim Your Rights

June 12, 2009

Have you heard of a Mesothelioma Lawyer? Do you know why they exist? Mesothelioma is a form of lung cancer. So, why is there a lawyer for that kind of illness, unlike other cancer and other form of illness?

People who work in asbestos production companies are of risk of this Mesothelioma cancer. Do those people know they are in the “cancer zone”? I guess they didn’t know. But when people get sick, and was diagnosed with the said cancer, physicians may have told their patients that it’s their working environment that causes them to be very ill. We are talking about cancer here.

What do people get if they got sick because of their work? They can get benefits. But when the news flashed, many of the asbestos companies declared bankruptcy. So what about their employees who got ill? They don’t get any benefits. When a company files that the company would shut down because of bankruptcy, employees wouldn’t be able to get anything, unless from the company’s remaining assets.

So here goes the part of the lawyer. The lawyer can help those employees to claim their benefits since they got sick from their work. If you are one of the many people got the cancer from work, claim your benefits, claim your rights.

The Killing of Pawikan

Chinese love eating healthy foods. And one of the healthy but exotic food is the “pawikan” or sea turtle. Is “pawikan” called as sea turtle in English? Anyway, I would just call it turtle for short.

As I had blogged before, turtle is my favorite pet.

Just a few days ago, there are the turtles on the pail. When I went to the kitchen, my father-in-law is holding a turtle and a knife. Remember those days when the terrorists held their captives. And in international TV, they killed their victim, using a big knife, slicing the poor guy’s neck. That’s what I saw on the kitchen.

I screamed a little. But then I quickly remembered that my husband told me to not react like that. My father-in-law might get hurt he says. So I look back and check on the turtle. I also told father-in-law if I can again take a look. I’m smiling at that time.

Poor “pawikan”/turtle/sea turtle.

A Nurse? Check Out Scrubs

June 10, 2009

If you are a nurse, particularly a female nurse, you got to check out the site Scrubs. The site focuses on nurses. You won’t believe it, but the site covers from nurse’s health to fashion tips!

Summer is over. But it is just now that the sun shines above the land. Rainy seasons is over! So even if you are a nurse, or a medical assistant, maybe you would love to know that wearing that saggy shirt and pant can be sexy too. Whenever someone saw someone on those uniforms, they are just ignored. But, should the case be always like that? If you are one of those who loves to brag you looks, but your uniform is killing it, this is the best site for a nurse like you.

Another thing. A nurse’s work is a busy one. Maybe at the end of the day, or worst on the middle of the day, your make-up is messed up crazy. Okay, I might be over exagerating things up. But everyone got their “bad day”. And that do happen on work. Here’s a great tip for nurses.

Anyway, a girl is a girl. Who doesn’t love bragging one’s look anyway? Just check out the site and be a beautiful nurse.

I Want Colored Contact Lenses!

June 9, 2009

I saw a contact lens seller at Multiply at http://mycontactlensshop.multiply.com/. I got a new pair of lenses after I lost one piece (is it called piece?) of contact lens.

Maybe after 2 months, I’ll be buying a new pair on that online shop. I would be buying the Nude Brown as a first timer on colored contact lenses.

I’m so excited!!! But wait! I have different grades for my eyes. I hope the seller can sell different grades as pair, or I mean, per piece. Crossing fingers.

Got to buy a new pair of contact lens…

April 28, 2009

I lost one piece of contact lens last night, the one on the left… I don’t know where it dropped itself. It’s just *PUFF* gone! So now, I got another reason to go to Grand Central (Monumento, Caloocan City), to buy a new lens.

I just need one piece. But I might buy a new pair. The lenses are for three months wear only.

Investment: Money or Silver

April 11, 2009

I guess a lot of people still don’t know about investing in silver. Here in the Philippines, does anyone do silver investment? I don’t know. But I guess this is a good alternative on investment.

Putting in money on companies, the ones we call stock investment, is a big risk now since the “recession period” rises. And because of this, investing on properties have become difficult too. More people become contented on what properties they have.

But silver, even if the recession period pushes the economy down, it’s value is still getting high. So silver is a very good investment alternative. You don’t need to worry about checking if the value goes up or down. You don’t need maintenance just like maintaining a house or lot to maintain its value. All you have to do is just buy a silver or how many you wish to invest. And someday, you can sell it in a very high price.

Baby Ivan now has a Chinese Name

April 6, 2009

Ivan’s Chinese name is…

Photobucket

Its alphabetical version is Huang Ze Kai. The “z” doesn’t actually pronounced as “z”. It’s more like “g”, but not actually. It’s complicated. Then the “k” is pronounced as “kh”.

Well, finally… his name is permanent. My parents-in-law and husband had given our Ivan a Chinese name, then scratch, then another name after some days, then scratch… I think Ivan had used about 3 names, and this 4th one is final. Finally!!!

Does mother-in-laws love their daughter-in-laws?

March 26, 2009

Lately, I was thinking of the situation that happened to me just last three days ago.

My husband do fetch me from work everyday. He tags along our baby Ivan and my mother-in-law. He fetch me because baby Ivan wants to go out everyday. And it has been a habit of my husband fetching me because of Ivan.

But last three days ago, I was supposed to go home by my own. My husband had a meeting. So that night before going home, I go to Mercury 5th ave. to buy my medicine. I’m coughing up to now. Then my husband called and asked me where I was. He told me to wait for them (he and his cousin) , that they would go to 5th ave.

We had dinner on a Chinese mini restaurant (karinderya). My husband, who was a joker, called his mother and asked if his wife (me) was home. I did heard her voice over the mobile phone. Her mother said something like “She’s not here.“, with like a question mark on her sentence.

My husband told her, that I told him, that I would be going home. Then he said, “Now where did she go?” His mother replied, “I don’t care if she would still be going home.

I was okay then, I took it as a joke. But when we went home, then after a few hours, my husband revived the “joke”, asked me in front of his mother, “Did you runaway?” Then my mother made a sign to my husband, tapping his arm and saying “shhhh… shhhhh…” in a hushed voice.

That’s when I realized, she’s not really joking when she said that. I know my mother-in-law. When she’s not serious, she would play along. But she didn’t that time.

Is it the money? I mean, now that my husband is earning much more than I am (as of now, and as what they are expecting), it’s like they don’t need me anymore. I am not having an illusion. My mother-in-law once asked me why am I not withdrawing any money from the Internet. I told her that my last withdraw was last January. And now that it’s March and I hadn’t withdraw any money, that means that I am earning a monthly net income of PHP 25,000. Unlike before when I was earning PHP 30,000.00 or more per month, because of my online income. And again, because that my husband’s earnings is now more than mine.

Wait until I am earn bigger, bigger that people would drool on what I am earning. Hahaha joke, but really, one day, I would be earning more. I hope.

I miss this blog…

March 14, 2009

I hadn’t post anything on this blog. I was so busy with work, with taking care of baby Ivan at night, and migrating my Blogger blog to WordPress, only my Berry Blog.

I really have some things to post on here. Those were just on my mind last week. But unfortunately, I forgot those things. Too busy at work, too much stress, and all, just makes me forget some things that I would really want to do — to blog.

Oh one thing I remembered was… my being game addict. I thought I can leave games. I thought… but as my baby grows up, I am able to play a little, not everyday, maybe once a week.

I am also thinking of creating another blog for the games I am playing. But I guess I would pass this idea. I have no more time for another blog. Maybe next time =)

My first malling with Ivan

March 4, 2009

Last Sunday, that was March 1, 2009, my husband and I, together with baby Ivan and hubby’s niece Uy-uy, went to Century Seafoods Restaurant to attend a baptismal party. There’s food cart with yummy foods. I got to lick some of the strawberry icecream when baby Ivan cried for milk. Ivan drank half of his small bottle and began to cry. He was sleepy. But by that moment, I still didn’t know he’s acting because he’s sleepy.

After some minutes, I decided to walk Ivan on the mall. At Harrizon Plaza, Ivan finally slept. At that moment, it’s already 1:00 pm and I’m hungry, and beginning to feel dizzy. I had my Jollibee Chicken Burger Meal while holding Ivan. He’s sleeping, so it’s the best time to eat.

When he woke up, he’s so happy and smiling. We’re playing on the floor and on the chair.

It’s my first time to be with my baby Ivan, just the two of us, in the mall. I would want that to happen again. I so so so miss that bonding moment of ours.

How to prevent insects from getting in your food…

March 1, 2009

My husband bought a box of pizza for “me”. Unfortunately, only I ate some slices of pizza. I think it’s three slices. My husband had ate on a restaurant. He can’t take any piece of anything anymore. He’s so full. My parents-in-law doesn’t like pizza. So there are five slices left.

I remembered, that was midnight, when I prepared milk for baby Ivan, I saw lots of ants crawling on the walls and the kitchen table. The red ants are all after the pizza!!!

So after feeding baby, I was thinking what to do with the pizza. The refrigerator had no more space for the pizza. So I came up with an idea. This idea is great for food on plate.

1. Get a pan. But it in a table. You can use anything that is applicable on this technique.

2. Put some water in the pan. Then put something (anything) that would hold up the plate. In this case, I put a bowl.

3. Place the plate with food above the bowl (or anything that would hold the plate up). Just be sure that the plate would not be touching the pan. Did you get the idea here? Crawling insects would need to swim just to get on the pizza =p

4. What about flying insects? Use a food cover to protect the food from flying insects.

If any insect comes near my pizza with that covers, maybe that’s a Super Insect!!!

I hope that helps =p

Warning: Raptiva Drug Can Cause Deadly Brain Infection

February 28, 2009

I would like to warn people about the Psoriasis drug Raptiva. The said drug has the possibility to cause a very rare but very deadly brain infection (viral) disease which is called progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML).

According to Raptiva PML, Psoriasis is “a chronic immune-system disease which causes thick, red, scaly patches to appear on the surface of the skin. Psoriasis is associated with diabetes, heart disease, and obesity and as many 30 percent of psoriasis patients also develop psoriatic arthritis.”

And taking the drug Raptiva, the case may worsen into another disease. If unfortunate happens to the taker of the drug, the person might suffer to PML. PML sometimes acquired by people who have cancer, immunosuppressive theraphy, those who have gone organ transplant, and mostly, to those who have AIDS.

Do not take this as another blog post of mine. There are already those who suffered from PML after taking the Raptiva drug. So be alert and know about this drug.

If you or you know anyone, especially your love ones are taking the drug Raptiva, you must know your rights. Check out http://www.youhaverights.com/dangerous-drugs/raptiva to learn more about the drug and the disease it may cause, and see what you can do about it. They have a live chat. You can also call their hotline at toll free. Fight for your rights. I am happy to know that there are organizations who help people with such case.

What Aphrodisiac Are You?

February 17, 2009

I saw this test from iceah’s blog. I’m curious of what result I would get. I’m surprised with the result!

You Are Chocolate

You make people feel euphoric and dreamy. You’re very addicting.
You definitely drive people to passion, lust, and even obsession.

While you are quite sensual, you are also comforting.
You sure know how to work your magic. It doesn’t take long to get someone to love you.

What Aphrodisiac Are You?

Now that explains why I’m getting *** proposals from friends and not really friends. But still, I don’t get it! What did I do???

Prayer Tag And Link For The Philippines And The Filipinos

February 7, 2009

tacK tag me a prayer tag. She says I’m a Pinoy at heart. That’s cute of her. Thankssssssssssssss

Instructions
This is a prayer tag and link for the Philippines and the Filipinos. You are enjoined to utter this prayer for nine (9) consecutive days and to tag as many bloggers as you can with preference for Filipinos. But only bona fide Filipinos shall be included in the official registry of Filipino bloggers in this blog. Each time a new blogger makes a link, be sure to send me an email of the entire link through melalarilla@gmail.com so that the official list will be consolidated in a master list in this blog. For our Muslim brothers, you may make your own special prayer formula but you must never deviate from the formula of this entire post.

Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, we consecrate to you our beloved country- the Philippines and all the Filipinos around the world. We acknowledge Father that apart from You, we can do nothing and it is only your divine providence and grace that can unite all Filipinos as one nation. We therefore humble ourselves before your throne. We confess all our sins to you individually and collectively as a nation. Forgive us our sins Father and wash us clean by the precious blood of Your beloved Son- Jesus Christ. Mend our wicked ways and let us experience a strong and genuine spiritual revival for ourselves and for our country. Let the Holy Spirit imbibe us with power, love and wisdom to return to Your path of holiness and righteousness. Bless our country, heavenly father. Bless all Filipinos wherever they maybe. Let progress, unity, harmony, stability, justice, peace and prosperity reign in our country.

Bless our leaders, from the President down to the lowest Barangay official. Touch their hearts that they may serve our country with all honesty and with love and integrity. Bless our children and our future generation. And bless us all Father in all aspects of our lives. This we pray to You heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.

You understand people well, and you mostly enjoy being around them.

You are a naturally warm person, but you do have times when you’re feeling a bit distant.
But even when you’re feeling distant, you try to be empathetic. You always go the extra mile.

How Warm Are You?

I actually saw this test on tacK’s blog. So I tried this one for fun. And this test just say that tacK is a good girl compare to me.

What do I love about my husband?

February 5, 2009

bonz gave me this tag. And this is a super late posttttttttt. But this is a good one…. about hubbies :p

My husband…. bow!!!

I love him for being a good husband and a good father to our baby. Although we’re still on our young age of married life, I can see that his priority is his family.

I love him for the “smile” he gives me (sometimes). I love him for being thoughtful for buying me a bag even if it’s only worth a 100 Php. He tries to fetch me from work almost everyday.

We got a simple life. That’s what I love about our life. And that’s why I love my husband.

I would like to tag iceah and popcorn for this one =)

Philippine Fiesta = Unlimited Solicits of Money???

January 11, 2009

I don’t understand. We’re a new neighbor on the area. And so, since there’s a fiesta here on our place, I have just discovered that Filipinos really has a very very very thick face!!! Sorry to the Pinoys reading this. I am a Chinese, and my heart is of the Philippines. But still, there are so many wonders Pinoy makes that surprises me.

It’s fiesta. Yesterday, someone early morning was knocking on the door. My husband said it’s the Barangay asking for some donation, because of the fiesta. My husband put 100 Pesos on the envelope. Then later, another one knocks on the door. My husband told them that he had already donated money.

Then it’s time for me to go to work. As I went out our door, someone was asking for a donation. I said we have donated 100 Pesos already. The girl said that this is a different one, for the gay who would be dancing. So I give 20 Pesos.

Then another one came. A tomboy!!! Okay, I don’t discriminate tomboys. But as of my experiences talking and dealing with tomboys, they are kind of arrogant and would do everything to get what they want!!! I told her that we had already donated 2 times. She said that this one is for the gay who would dance, a different group she said. She really insisted for me to donate of any value. What can I do?!?!?!!! I donated I think about 7 Pesos. The rest of my money would be for my tricycle and jeepney ride to office.

Today, someone again was knocking on the door, early morning again!!! I went down to check and ohhhhhhhhh a lady asking me for some donation. I said I have no money left. She really insisted so I told her that I’ll donate about 20 Pesos and that’s the last because there’s no money left. Actually, we got more money at the house. But should we give all our money to them????

As I told her that, she made a sign to someone far away. I was thinking that she’s signing that she got some donation. When I came back with the money on the envelope, I told her that it’s 30 Pesos and it’s the last donation we would do. But there are 2 gays with her now asking for donation!!!

I told them that there’s none. I had no money left for donation, that I need the money of the next days, and we would still need to pay for our bills for the next day (this is true). And I told them that they should ask for just one donation. They aren’t different groups. The gays’ faces were kind of upset. I closed the door with a frown on the face.

After a few ours, I was hearing drums on the street. I looked outside the window. What the!!!!!! There are about 3 gays looking up and asking for donation. I said there’s none left. Then one gay said that I can throw the donation from our window.

Then the whole afternoon, there are some individuals who have a drum, or a harmonica, played a little for about 5 seconds. Then they would ask for donation. And their reason??? It’s fiesta they say.

And so, this is the Filipino culture. If the Pinoys hate us Chinese for looking down on them. Then what the heck are they doing those things to us Chinese!!!

I say them not asking our Pinay neighbor for donation. Don’t they know? That Pinay’s husband is a Chinese.

So next year, it would be like this again.

And the drink seems heavy on the stomach. I don’t feel like taking a lunch. The taste? It’s like “What you see is what you get.” If you know what a cookies ‘n’ creme taste like, and you love that flavor, then go buy one for yourself.

But the milk drink is kind of pricey. It costs PHP 24.25 on Mercury Drug Store.

Ahhhh what a peaceful life! Now, I can feel Christmas. Merry Christmas everyone. I’m smiling again.

When my son grows up, I would like him to at least play one sport. And when that time comes, I would buy him a ball and his own court. I would like to buy him a portable one. I am really serious. I want one like the image below.

But I’m a busy busy busy mom, so an online shop like Shop Wiki. I love the complete stuff they sell with a variety of brands one can choose from. Maybe two more years and I would buy a small portable court for my son. I hope he would love it.

Baby Ivan fell twice from the bed!!!

My baby Ivan fell twice from the bed!

The first one was lucky. Although his face would fall flat on the narra wood floor, he luckily fell with some pillows on the floor. He just cried about 10 seconds and then was smiling again.

The second one, which is the day after the first fall, he fall flat on the floor!!!

I told my husband that I would like to resign from work, since his parents can’t take care of their grand son anymore, because there are 3 more to look at. He didn’t agree on that idea. I know without my salary, we can’t live on the house with the 10,000 Pesos monthly rental. We would not be able to buy my son some clothes to wear. And so on, and so on, and so on.

My mother-in-law even told me that the 2 kids and the baby would be at our house just for 6 more days. So, within that 6 days, my baby Ivan would fall down flat to the floor again???!!!

Baby Ivan + Another baby + Two Little Kids

December 18, 2008

It’s a mess!!! There are four little heads to feed and to take care of. I wanna shout… WTFFFFFFFF!!!

My mother-in-law has been telling me about her back pains. And now, she and my father-in-law are taking care of 2 babies and 2 kids. The baby and 2 kids are the son and daughters of my brother-in-law. He said he and her wife are so busy at Baclaran. They have a store there.

Why, aren’t there any alternatives? I just don’t get it. He’s wife hates my husband and my parents-in-law. And so, what the heck their children are doing at our home? Yeah, it’s not the kids’ fault. But rumors have tell me about her bad mouth. She has been telling everybody, EVEN ME, how bad my husband and my parents-in-law. Her contacts on China even knows about her stories. And so those from China seems to hate my husband and parents-in-law.

How good my mother-in-law to just cry and take care of the kids.

And oh! My parents-in-law are living with us because my husband’s brother told them to just live with us, because his wife hates them. And now, all of their kids are at our home, messing up the whole house!!!

Education Online… an option

December 16, 2008

Should one stop studying because of lack of time? The answer should be “no”. But people who have no time for education does stop schooling because they have other important priorities than education. So, education is not that important? The answer should be “yes”. But people tend to ignore education because they would need to work full time.

People usually stop going to school after high school. They need to start working to help their family survive. Or college tuition is fee too high. They would not be able to go to college if they don’t work. But working eats up all those time when you should be inside the classroom. So one would stop going to college to work. And most of those in that situation would not go back to school because they are earning money at work. And they thought they would not need to go to college anymore.

That’s not a good idea. Going to college gives one an option to look for a better job. One will not have a hard time looking for a job when the company lays off employees. So what’s the solution to all of this? Getting an online university degree might just solve the problem.

I think I should shout… Part 1

I think I should shout… “I am a racist!!!!” Yeah that’s right. I’m a racist, of my own race, but of those who grew up on a different part of the world.

I’m not sure if it has to do with their education level… a little or no education at all. Or they are just like that.

My father is right about them. They always thought they are the great one. They thought that all others are stupid and everything.

But the real thing is, they are the stupid one… STUPID JERKS!

I am talking about those Chinese who are here in the Philippines that came from China. Those who doesn’t know how to speak English. Some of them even don’t how to speak Mandarin! Okay, it’s not about what they only know or their education level. I’m talking about them being arrogant.

I really have to repeat these lines. They always thought they are the great one. They thought that all others are stupid and everything.

I don’t know about those Chinese from other parts of the world like US, Canada, Malaysia, etc. What I only know is that, I as a Chinese here in the Philippines, when I am in a foreign country like China or US, I should be the one to adjust. Yes, China is a foreign country to me.

They, the Chinese from China who are here right now in the Philippines… I just hate them!!!

8 random things

November 19, 2008

Thanks bonz for giving me this tag :p

Myspace Glitter Graphics - http://www.glittertextgraphics.com

here are the rules:

1 - Each player starts with eight random fact/habits about themselves.
2 - People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
3 - At the end of your blog post, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their name.
4 - Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and to read your blog.

here are my 8 things about me:

  1. I love making money online.
  2. I don’t care if I’m making more money than my husband. It does happen some times because my husband is a sales agent. As long as we have a good home, enough food, nice clothes… I’m okay.
  3. I’m a programmer. But I don’t see myself having my own programming firm. My business would be related to sales, if I would have my own business.
  4. I hate male programmer that are so arrogant and yet are not better than me. Sorry :p
  5. I don’t like using to mobile phones. I have a hard time using the other.
  6. I’m a shy type of person.
  7. I don’t know how to read maps.

Now, I’m passing this one to 8 friends.

For My Girl Friends

November 11, 2008

Iceah tag me again. Another poem. I decided to post it in this blog. I want to post it right now, not next time. So here it is. Thanks iceah.

When I was little,
I used to believe in the concept of one best friend,
And then I started to become a woman.
And then I found out that if you allow your heart to open up,
God would show you the best in many friends.

One friend is needed when you’re going through things with your man.
Another friend is needed when you’re going through things with your mom.
Another will sit beside you in the bleachers as you delight in your children and their activities.
Another when you want to shop, share, heal, hurt, joke, or just be.
One friend will say, ‘Let’s cry together,’
Another, ‘Let’s fight together,’
Another, ‘Let’s walk away together.’

One friend will meet your spiritual need,
Another your shoe fetish,
Another your love for movies,
Another will be with you in your season of confusion,
Another will be your clarifier, Another the wind beneath your wings.

It may all be wrapped up in one woman, But for many, it’s wrapped up in several…
One from 7th grade,
One from high school,
Several from the college years,
a couple from old jobs,
On some days your mother,
On some days your neighbor,
On others, your sisters,
And on some days, your daughters.

So whether they’ve been your friend for 20 minutes or 20 years,
AND ONLY IF YOU’D LIKE TO,
Pass this on to the women who has a place in your life/lives…..

No one is perfect. Are you?

October 25, 2008

I should not be blogging about this. But I hate the fact that I am hearing bad things about me. If somehow they read this blog post of mine, here is a disclaimer…

Disclaimer: I am not enclosing any names on this blog post. Anyone who think that they are the one who I’m talking about this blog post, be at peace because you are not sure if it’s you or anybody else.

NUMBER 1:
She’s fat. She should not be wearing sexy blouses. Her stomach is fat…

Hmmm so being fat is a crime? I got pregnant. I gave birth. I love eating. To those that are saying those things to insult me, are you perfect? To those who are so eager to have a child that are trying to say those things to insult me, so you want to be sexy forever? Don’t try to have a child so you girl(s) would stay sexy for the rest of your lives!

NUMBER 2:
Why have gone to the OB to get pregnant? That’s so early? Nagmamadali ka ba?

I got those questions from some OB and others. OBs have the right to ask that question, and other people too. But asking that question on a different tone, just like insulting someone, is a very different thing.

I always tell my OB, friends and others that I have an irregular menstruation. So the OB knows my problem. And to my friends and others, I explain to them that having irregular menstruation is like saying that I have a problem with my reproductive organ. Lucky me I got pregnant after the 3rd OB I visited. I got pregnant after 10 months of me being married. If I didn’t check with an OB, I would not still have a baby.

Again, to those who are insulting me, I now have a baby. I am happy with my life. Are you???

I’m just voicing out.

Family First (by: JB Jimenez - Ayala Land)

October 18, 2008

Got this one from my email box…

=======================================

Family First

by: JB Jimenez - Ayala Land

Ano kayang halaga ng tagumpay sa career if it has been achieved at the expense of the family. What profit does a man have kung mawawala naman ang kanyang pamilya? OO nga, meron siyang salapi na milyon ang halaga, magandang mansyon, travels around the world, and cavorts with an array of girls, women, and ladies, pero naman ang kapalit kung ikaw naman ay being hated by your daughters and is the mortal enemy of your sons. Can success in career really make up for failure at home? Which then is more important, wealth or family. A great number of us would readily say family.

Pero totoo kaya na ang ating sinasabi ay ating ginagawa. But do we walk our talk ika nga? Are we
willing to translate our mindsets into concrete actions? Day by day, we are bombarded by 52 million dollar questions, Sino ba ang mahalaga ang mga anak ko o ang trabaho ko.

To my fellow employees, I don’t know how you react out there or would Answer my questions. In my case, as an accountant who always spend overtime in the office to be able to submit deadline reports come month-end or cut-off period, I have made unforgivable mistakes. If
I have to live my life again, I would need to overhaul my priorities, to rechannel the efforts that I Have been exerting with passions and commitment. I thought all along na ang Lahat ng ginagawa kong pagpapahirap at pagtratrabaho to the max to get a promotion, I am doing it all for the family. But I was wrong. Today I know better. When my wife or daughter is on the phone
I make sure that I attend to them first, never mind if there are urgent things to attend or papers to submit to my superior, after all they can wait for 10 minutes…..but if I deny the 10 minutes that is so important to them, it would have a lasting effect than to my Boss who might be replaced in a couple of years.

My family is my top priority, period. It is not a choice between my family and my career. MY FAMILY IS THE REASON WHY I NEED A CAREER. My career will come and go, employers can come and go but one’s family Will remain even beyond the grave. They even take care
of our graves. Noon kahit mayroon affairs sa school ang aking mga anak, I’d tend to preponderate toward the official duty and delegate the affairs of my kids to my wife. I used to operate on the paradigm that I should focus on the duty first before pleasure. Now I know that MY first duty is toward my loved ones. I should put my time where my heart belongs.

Today if I will to do it all over again, I’d reverse my priorities. My son will only graduate once in
elementary and only once in high school, I will make sure I will be there, I will file my vacation leave and if my Boss rejected it because I need to attend to a company function where I am required to attend, I would still go to my kids graduation no matter what the consequences are. This time I am willing to become an average corporate officer, a so-so business executive but a great father. I’m willing to be reprimanded by my Boss for a late report but not hated by a daughter for not remembering her birthday every year…..na ilalabas ko siya the whole day and cherish the moments every minute dahil alam ko hindi ko na maibabalik ito kapag lumaki na siya at kung gawin ko man later, baka huli na. There are more important matters compared to corporate business meetings, Family peace and love- these are the ones that matter most.

BUT I SPEAK ONLY FOR MYSELF. I DO NOT IMPOSE VALUES ON YOU GUYS OUT THERE.

If you think possessions are more important than family, go ahead. Spend 20 hours in the office, bring home your corporate work. Neglect your wife.. don’t spend quality time with your kids. Don’t attend important family gatherings. Find work that you are away for a week and only meet your family every week-ends, oh what a waste. Delegate raising the children to your spouse. Leave the young kids to the nanny. Let the driver brings your kids to school. Ask someone to represent in your son college graduation. If you find something wrong at home, don’t mind it,
anyway your concentration is in your job. You have your career remember? Don’t greet your father and mother on their anniversary. Spend all your time in the company. Baka mawala ang tiwala ng Boss mo sa iyo sayang ang pinagpaguran mo ng matagal. If you have aging parents, don’t visit them. enjoy your career in isolation. Drink, dance, be merry, But in the end, you
lose all the love ones who love you more, after neglecting them. No wife, no kids, no family. you are alone and pretending to be happy. don’t blame your company. don’t lay the Burden on your Boss. Hindi ba, You made the choice? You opted to put more value on your career. Dahil sabi mo pinaghirapan mo lahat ito and pangarap mo na ito simula pagkabata dahil mahirap ka lang ikamu…gusto mong yumaman. You gambled and you lost.

I know of an executive na masyadong depressed…every week lang siyang umuwi sa pamilya niya. Week-ends lang niya nalalaro ang mga bata kung minsan required pa mag-stay ng sabado sa office, who finds no meaning in his life, he’s got the money, a beautiful wife who according to him might be hiding something from him (you know what I mean) and the kids are not genuinely
closed to him, for no apparent reason he had pulled the trigger to his head. He’s got everything and he lost everything. that is the tragedy of it all.

As for me, I know better. After all the pains, the burdens of mistaken priorities, I have made my choice. Anytime, anywhere, my family comes first. My career, my business, my outside clients, all my other pursuits are only means to the end of all my sacrifices, my wife, my sons, my daughters, my family. I shall thus manage my various objectives well. there shall not be conflicting objective anymore. For I now know clearly my priorities and shall be faithful to them. I shall be willing to give them up; excess money, much comfort, travels, and girls for and in the name of the family. That is simple and straightforward.

PS. Are you aware that if we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our own family, an unwise investment indeed, don’t you think? And we often treat strangers and coworkers better than members of our family.

=======================================

An eye opener to some, a reminder to some… This makes me think of ignoring all job offers that are based on Ortigas, Makati, etc. Even with the triple salary they offer, I’m still with my current boss. My reason, I can always be late or absent anytime I want to. Well, not always syempre. Pero open ang time sched ko sa office. Although I’m hoping to have a bigger salary, I would rather be with my family than be in New York away from my son. Yes, there are job offers that would send me to New York, to Singapore… big salaries… pocket money… dollars!!! But I’m afraid that my son would hate me when I leave them to earn big bucks.

As long as Nelson and I can still give all the necessities to our son, I would not look for another job. Nakakahinayang nga lang. When I was pregnant, many job offers came. I even cried. Then I just tell myself that I wanted a son, a happy family, not big bucks and away from home.

Metropolitan Hospital…

My niece was confined at Metropolitan Hospital due to high fever. The hospital was newly renovated (I don’t know when). But one thing for sure. The hospital looks like a hotel! There’s Seattle’s Best inside the hospital. Outside, there’s a chain of fast food stores.

And look! At the lobby, there’s a beautiful vase with these flowers on the table.

Those flowers are real flowers.

Chinese Medicines

October 10, 2008

Last month, when I was sick coughing, my mother-in-law gave me these Chinese Medicines…

This one I think is very popular in China because this has a commercial (on Chinese Cable channels).

And this one is to prevent me from coughing and coughing and coughing… She also gave one to my mother who was also sick.

Those caterpillars on the images you saw, I thought those would be the exact thing I would put in my mouth! My mother-in-law told me to just put some on my tongue, and let them melt there. When my hands felt circular objects inside the plastic container (yung lalagyan nung gamot), I asked her if what’s inside is what’s on the drawing. She was laughing and telling me that it’s not that’s inside. She said something like… The caterpillar is one of the ingredients of the wine… err… I really don’t understand. But the good thing is, I don’t have any caterpillars on my tongue :)

Serious with your website?

October 4, 2008

Serious with your website and blog? I have heard that there are people who are switching from free to paid web hosting. I still have all my blogs and websites hosted for free. But one day, if I would be needing to get more services, then I would move and check for other website hosting companies.

What are the things you get from a free hosting and from a paid hosting? First, the customer support is always ready to help you out. Well, not always for all paid hosting. But at least you can rely on then that they should help you on your problem. Next are the packages they offer. The more complicated you want, the more you need to check on different paid hosting websites.

And to start with, different web hosting companies have their hosting specialty. There are those who are best with PHP hosting, and others which I might look on next time are the best on blog hosting. Tip, before you register for a web host, you should always check if the hosting package does meet your needs.

Many acne on the face is hard to cure. Many of us knows that. There are so many treatments for such disaster. Some works, but some don’t. Many have tried using Murad Acne by the renowned world dermatologist Dr. Howard Murad. And they say that their acne are all gone for good.

Free Online Medical Solution for Physicians

September 30, 2008

It is health and technology combined. Yes, we can not say that the medical information is caged on books. And do not forget about the yearly updates of those medical terms. I can see on bookstores that there are those 2007 edition, 2008 edition. And then next year there would be a new edition, and so on and so forth.

And what’s great online? It is software. You can access it anywhere. I believe almost all medical institutions does have a PC for each doctor. And those PCs are connected from the Internet. With that, doctors and any other medical-related people can check on a particular drug. It helps if the drug information on the Internet is complete.

A good example to check on is the drug Cipro listed on the Internet. It have the dosages for adults and kids. There is also feed if the drug is safe for pregnant women. And there’s the drug interaction, and many more. And what I like about it is, there are pictures of the actual medicine.

I want to eat PIZZAAAAA

September 29, 2008

I want to eat pizza. And I don’t want take-out pizza. I want to eat it on the store. I hate taking out food to home. I want to feel the taste of what I’m eating, the surroundings of the store’s area, the airconditioned room, the store service, the pampering…

Basta, I don’t like take-out. I want dine-in.

I miss Pizza Hut (Grand Central) branch. I hate the SM North Edsa branch, too hot! But if we would have an eye-ball, you know who you guys are, then it would be okay on that branch, if you guys want to held the meet-up there.

I miss Banawe Starbucks!

I want to go to Banawe Starbucks! I want to relax a little. I want to sip a tall frap of any kind. But when can I go there? I wanted to enjoy the moment away from my work, away from my blog, away from anyone, except from my husband. As of now, baby Ivan can’t go with us. Coffee shops are not places for crying babies.

Why with my husband? He is the one and only person who is with me everytime I’m on Starbucks Banawe branch. That was when we were not yet married, up to I gave birth. Now with a baby to take care, I don’t have time for myself.

I just wonder how other new mothers do it. They go to the mall one a week. Maybe they have hired a yaya, or their very own mother is taking care of her baby. My mother-in-law is taking care of my baby. I guess if I would be out once a week to go to the mall or to Starbucks, I would hear “something”. Being a daughter and beign a daughter-in-law is totally a different thing.

Maybe I can go out once a month :)

Direct TV better than Cable TV

DirectTV offers satellite connection. Cable TV is, as the name says, through cable wiring. I was wowed when I saw the channel line-up of a satellite connection. The list was more than of what I had expected. I wanted movie channels. DirecTV had so many on their list. And there’s so many types of TV channel to choose from.

I have a satellite connection at home so I must now. There are over 40 Chinese channels on my connection. And for English, I’m not sure but I know it’s about that many too. But just check out DirecTV deals. They are giving away 4 months free for the new subscribers.

I got online money. Now what?

September 27, 2008

I again got funds from the Matched! Here’s some evidence.

And this month, I got about $197 as of September 26, 2008. There would some more coming for this month :)

Now what?

All of my online earnings, I have withdraw them all. All are used up. Before, the funds is for my pregnancy. Now, for extra money on the house. But my husband and I are planning to just save all my online earnings on my bank account for our baby’s 1st birthday celebration. It might not be enough, but the funds would surely ease up our budgeting on baby Ivan’s birthday.

And if we would be lucky, we hope to save more for his future! Maybe that would come after his 1st birthday celebration.

null

My husband is telling me that we might go to China. He would want me to see our motherland. He would want to show me their old home when he used to live in China.

That luggage would be perfect for me. I own a luggage. But it’s plain in color. Yes, I know. Luggage are plain in color. But with that luggage just like the image shown above, it makes me want to buy it.

I don’t think there are many luggage store that carries so many different kinds of luggage, in so many different kind of brand, in so many different kind of design.

It’s great to give a luggage or just the tote as a gift! Okay, the tote will do good to me. I think I fall in love with that design.

The Angpao On Parties :)

Iceah has a comment about the party for baby Ivan’s birthday next year. Her comment is as follows…

~~~~~~~ start ~~~~~~~
yehey! ivan the great c: mwa! wish i could kiss you c:
berry consider your budget ask consultation on a party organizer and a caterer i’ll help out okay c: i have a friend who helped out nung wedding namin lahat pati invitations sya nagsuggest samin kasi caterer and party organizer sya di yun mgpapabyad sakin kasi super friend namin sya ni pastilan para hindi kna masyado mamroblema sabihin mo kung magkano buget mo then he would advice na pati your situation c:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

then I replied…

~~~~~~~start ~~~~~~~
yes actually I’m thinking of yung cater na lang, and about the place, baka puede manghiram. usually ang birthday is cater di ba. ok sana kaso ayaw ni husband. kasi ang prob mga kamag-anak nya panay chinese. take note!!! chinese from china sila, pero dito na sila nakatira sa pinas. hayyy nako, racist talaga ako even my own race. Yang mga chinese from china akala mo kung sino sila!
anyway, balik sa topic. hindi kc kumakain ng prito yung mga from china. so we have to sort out things kung ano dapat.
sa saisaki di ba a person is about 500php? so kung 100 person, hmmmmm ok pa siguro, kaya ko pang bayaran. or maybe kung more than 100, ok pa ren. babawi ako sa angpao :p and sure naman na bawi. laging ganun sa chinese.
i’ll compute for it. and hindi na importante yung magic show sa amin. karamihan ng bata na maliit sa amin is sa side ni husband, so wala ring kuenta. mga hindi na marunong magtagalog, hindi pa marunong magenglish. so tipid na kami duon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

after mo gumastos ng malaki sa handaan, bawi ka lagi sa angpao. as long as chinese ang relatives and friends and other guests mo. that’s the chinese culture, angpao imbes na gift. I myself would rather give angpao to a chinese friend that is getting married or having their child’s 1st birthday. I think it’s a practical way of giving angpao rather than gifts. all of us need money. and besides, mahirap mag-isip ng ireregalo. but it doesn’t mean that i don’t want to receive gifts. i’m so happy to receive gifts, puera na lang yung iba na tipong sapilitan.

but we still don’t know where to held the party. we still don’t have the money for the party. so we are hoping that we can earn some for his birthday celebration.

Understanding Web Hosting

September 26, 2008

Many of us have encountered the questions, “What is web hosting? What is a domain?” Then when we learned what is it all about, we have then new questions like, “There are free hosting, why would I need paid hosting? And I can have a website without paying for a domain. Why should I get my own domain?”

For newbies on blogging and mostly on online business, you can check out some web hosting articles on the why and how and the strategies you must at least know. Those strategies would be your initial gun on having more and more daily unique visitors on your website. Those tips would be the one that would boost your sales, or whatever you are offering online.

How did the web host started? I am curious too. It just pops out and slowly changed to what web hosting we have now. Before, all are static web hosting, meaning hosting for websites that are still, the pure html thing. Until the Internet and technology becomes more and more high-end, and more and more are offering webhosting with different levels. That why we would need to get a web host service. And when e-commerce started, everything is on the Internet.

The day we moved out to our new home… Part 4

September 24, 2008

So now that we’re on the new home, I have some things to fix…

* slowly put my stuff on the cabinets
* go to PLDT center for transfer of phone and dsl connection
* know what should I take to go to the office

But there are grrrr things happened…

* The drivers of the PC motherboard, camera, TV, etc. are missing! I put all those important CDs in one box. And that box is missing!
* I trashed some CDs that I don’t need. And those CDs are the one that were saved!!!
* Someone pick the pregnancy test I used that day. I actually put the kit on a plastic bag and then trash it. I think the whole plastic bag was brought to the new house.

Then another thing, we still need to wait for our phone dial tone. That’s why choco has not been blogging for days.

On Exhibit and Booth Designs

I have seen some exhibits and trade show booths of different types. Car, furniture, wedding, accessories, food, job, programming and maybe a little more. I love checking out wedding-related booths. Although I am already married, I still love seeing those amazing services and items then offer. And I think one of the most reason affecting me to come near and check out ones booth are the attractive banner stands, especially when I see banner stands that have been done so perfectly like the ones below…
xboxphone

Those banners takes the shape of what they want to tell people what they are about. Pipe and Drape would be best for auto shows and for wedding video coverage booths. Taste test would not need for drapes I think. I just can’t imagine it but if you can figure it out, then many would visit your booth.

I also love looking at the caterers booth. I wanted to know what they have to offer, and am amazed with their table skirts design. I think many people are actually checking out more about the booth when they see it really nice to look at. Just check the table design below. Just neat and amazing!

table design

The table skirt can also be used on actual parties, or on showcasing some of the most highlighted product on your booth. Who does want to visit and check out a blank booth anyway.

The day we moved out to our new home… Part 3

September 22, 2008

What happened after we’ve finally left the old home?

- Where to put that furniture?
- Where are the _______ ?
- What would we eat for lunch?
- What’s our complete address?
- Where’s the public market?
- We hope to get along with the new neighbors.
- What should I take to get to my work?
- We need to check on the old house. We might have forgot something.

Are we thinking too much??? Or we are just a newbie on moving to a new house.

Got any credit?

Do you have any credit? Is it good or a bad credit? I have a bad credit to share. I still have not paid a mobile phone telecommunications company that is running is years! I think it’s already about five years. I wanted to credit dispute that is good enough when I would need to borrow money.

I think I would need to improve my credit so I would not have a hard time applying for credit cards one day, if ever I would apply for one. I think one should really take care of their credit. Who knows when you would need an emergency cash. All of us do sometimes need a cash on our hands quickly for something. We just don’t know when.

And to improve credit score, you would need a company service that would help you do the repair. With their help, you would not have a hard time applying for credit cards or loan. Just leave the work to the experts. I think it’s the best thing to do. Improve credit now, and be merry tomorrow. I think it is a good financial motto. Well just be ready for everything.

What Your Handbag Says About You

You tend to be relaxed throughout the day. You are naturally at peace.

You are a low maintenance person. You can adapt to a variety of situations.

You are a high maintenance person. You feel lost outside of your normal environment.

You are a very creative person. Your life tends to be a whirlwind, but you always seem to pull it together.

You are an outgoing and expressive person. You always speak your mind, and you’re very approachable.

Who Wears the Pants… You or Your Guy?

Both of You Wear the Pants

You and your guy seem to have stuck the perfect power balance.
It’s not that you don’t disagree - it’s just that you’ve learned how to compromise well.
You’re both mature enough to know that you can’t always get your way…
And usually, you’re both adult enough to reach an agreement - even if that sometimes means giving in a little.
Who Wears the Pants… You or Your Guy?

We both earn money. Sometimes, he earns more than I do. But sometimes, it’s the other way around. But at home, I do want to treat my man as the “man”. If we would be watching TV, we have different tastes of movies and telenovelas. I just let him watch what he wants.

On special car plate number…

Most people with cars just love Personalised Number Plates. Our car’s plate number is also personalized, but we bought the car as second-hand, and it already has that number. Why would one like a personalized plate number? People love the “lucky numbers” on their plate. Or maybe they have a specific number on their mind that they want. I guess there are so many other reasons.

One day, I would be buying my own brand new car. I would love to have my personalized plate number too. But I hate the hassle of working and doing all the paper works and stuff. I want it straight. I want a service that would do all those stuff for me. And in the end, I would just install the plate on my new car. That would be the easy thing to do.

Are You in Love?

September 21, 2008

Your Love Score Is: 70

It’s love, but it’s definitely not ideal. Your relationship brings a lot of heartache too.
On an average day, you are happy and content with your partner. But there are a lot of problems under the surface.

Maybe your relationship has a lot of baggage. Or maybe you don’t communicate with each other as well as you could.
Either way, you both have a bit of resentment toward one another… whether you’ll admit it or not.

You can get the love you want. It may be possible in this relationship, but there are no guarantees.
Do your best to listen more, communicate better, and compromise as much as you can. Give it your best before you give up.

Are You in Love?

Yes it’s true. We are in love but we also encounter some problems with our relationship. Not actually I and my husband about the problem. It’s the people around us. But we love each other. And even though many hates my husband, I know my guy is a good father to my son, and a good husband too. And he is a good son to his parents, and a good friends to his countless friends.

Try this one out! I just got curious of what my score would be :p

Unique Ceiling Fans!

September 20, 2008

General Description: Farreys.com offers thousands of unique ceiling fans and ceiling fan accessories from more than a dozen popular ceiling fan manufacturers including: Casablanca, Craftmade, Ellington, Fanimation, Hunter Fan Company, Luceplan, Matthews Fans, Minka Aire, Modern Fan Company, Monte Carlo, NuTone, Quorum and Westinghouse. Visitors may shop by ceiling fan brand or by ceiling fan style. Our ceiling fan customization system assists in configuring and ordering ceiling fans to exact specifications with all accessories. Our ceiling fan search tool quickly helps find the perfect fan for your application.

Ceiling Fans are great if you want all below the roof to have air. Actually, I do prefer that type of fan because where ever I go on the room, I still get some air, unlike desk fans. And I think there is a classical touch on ceiling fans. Ceiling fans also give elegance to the room.

One good example of the ceiling fans which is classical and yet nice to have on the house are the casablanca ceiling fans. I would like one ceiling fan like the image below on my living room.

casablanca

And I did not realize that there are so many types of ceiling fans, even unique ones. I think this fanimation type like the image below is really unique.

fanimation

I think I would want that ceiling fan installed on my son’s very own room, if he got one someday.

The day we moved out to our new home… Part 2

I may have be the one assigned to Ivan that day. But I was so glad to carry him the whole day. He was sleeping on my arms. And ang lambot nya. Ang sarap ng feeling kahit ngawit na ngawit na ako. I do try to smell Ivan’s breathe. I do smell his neck, his arms. And then I wonder… “I wanted to always carry my baby like this. Paano pag laki nya, hindi ko na sya makakalong ng ganito.” Medyo nalungkot ako kasi I know na mamimiss ko yung pag-carry sa kanya ng ganun.

I just hope that we would be very close na parang magkaibigan, just like yung relationship ko with my brother who is now 11 years old. Namimiss ko kasi yung pagkarga sa bro ko nung baby pa sya. And hindi ko maimagine na after ilang years, may sarili nang decision-making ang anak ko…

This is the part of the time that day na nandun ako nakaupo sa stairs nung condo while holding Ivan. So peaceful… Kasi naman dun sa mismong old house, buhat dito buhat duon, bagsak dito bagsak duon. So naghanap ako ng place na tahimik.

Modern looking hospital gown

New hospitals and polyclinics have been trying to make their place elegant, something that is just like “not for the sick” place. It helps a lot to the patients attending to their physician that they are not really sick. It is a psychological strategy of modern heath institutions. It’s just like the patient is have a meeting with someone, who happens to be his doctor. What can you see around those institution? I am sure it is not all white. There are partitions too as I imagine it. The reception area is not the ordinary reception area we see on old medical institutions. It would something like an area on a hotel or a high-class call center reception area.

But I think many of the medical institutions forgot about what their patient wears. The idea would never be complete when the patients still wear the ordinary hospital gown, the one with the ropes to knot at the back of the gown. If those hospitals and polyclinics can acquire nice looking hospital gowns, then I guess their patient would not be going to other medical institutions for check-up, unless they don’t have the medical procedures that their patient needs. An example of what I am talking about is The Original Healing Threads Elegant hospital gowns, just like the image below.

elegant hospital gown

I think it’s a nice Chinese collar hospital gown. And in the first place, it does not look like a patient’s hospital gown at all. But just like on the image, there are some parts of the gown that one can open for the check-up. But I think the gown can be a perfect gift to mothers nursing their babies for breast milk. It is nice to wear, and it just looks elegant. And I think it would be effective for the mother to wear. Just remove the side chest cover and feed the baby. Done? Just stick it again.

The day we moved out to our new home… Part 1

Maybe I’m a beginner on moving on one house to another. What happened? It’s a mess!!! My husband had moved from one house to another. So it’s not his first time. But this is the first time that he has moved out with a family, with all those appliances and furniture.

So, what happened that day? Before that day, my parents-in-law had actually slowly transferring things that they can to the new house. My job was to take care of Ivan. That’s every morning before I go to work, and before my husband do his rounds to his friends, customers, suppliers…

Then the big day came. We had actually so many more things to transfer aside from the all the furniture. Our clothes, the computer and related stuff, the cooking related stuff…

When we finally left the house, they then slowly arranged all the stuff. My job again was to take care of Ivan. I took a leave from work that day.

Baby Slings, Maybe I Need One

I have never seen a baby sling before. That’s before when I have no son yet. But after I gave birth and then went to the mall to buy some things for my baby, I saw those slings in different colors. I thought I would not need them. But now that my son is three months old, it’s so hard to carry him the whole day when we’re not at home. Maybe we have a party to attend, or we went to the mall, I can’t do anything but just to hold my baby. And my baby is getting heavier. So maybe I would need a baby sling for me, something just like in the image below.

baby sling

So I won’t have a hard time eating at the reception. So I can pick the things I need to buy at the mall. I want the baby sling in light blue, just like in the image above.

We have moved out!!!

This is the first time that I have transferred to another house with my family. My very actual move out from a house was when I get married. But that’s another case. That case doesn’t need to move all my furniture and all to my new home. It’s just me, my bags, my shoes, my stuff and my clothes.

But transferring from one house to house, I find it so hard. Until now, I still have lots of stuff to check on those plastic bags and paper bags, and then put them to cabinets. I still have lots and lots and lots of unwashed clothes, even undergarments!!!

Then I’m so busy with my work. Too many work at the office to finish. So many schedules to beat. So when I went home, I’d just eat dinner and sleep.

Sunglasses!

September 19, 2008

I was before looking forward to wear a pair of sunglasses. But I have to wear eyeglasses instead. Then after so many years of wearing my eyeglasses, I decided to try contact lenses. I then feel that I have a normal eye vision, and I can then wear sunglasses. Yeheyyyyyyy! I was so envy to my friends wearing one, because before I can’t.

So, whenever I go to the mall, or have some more time to surf the Internet, I do check for shops and canvass for sunglasses, even if I’m not buying one. I have only a pair of sunglasses. But someday, if I found another sunglasses that looks good to me, then I’ll buy it. Before I buy a sunglasses, I do check if it would fit for the shape of my face. I mean, not all sunglasses will do look good on you. You should check what’s the shape of your face, and then know what’s the type of sunglasses for your face’s shape.

Maybe I would buy more sunglasses if I saw a perfect sunglasses for my face :)

Daughter-in-laws are always WRONG!

September 18, 2008

I hate the fact that daughter-in-laws are always the wrong-doers on the eyes of her parents-in-law, her in-law’s relatives and sometimes of her husband too. When they do something wrong, a smile and a little laugh is the repply of all. But if it’s the daughter-in-law, a frown or a silent effect, or maybe a discussion is made.

Like for example, my mother-in-law moved the plastic bag that’s so near on baby Ivan’s head. So the plastic bag’s noise did make the baby jumped. I was feeding Ivan milk that time. What happened? Mother-in-law just smile and jokingly said to Ivan, “Ang bilis mo naman magulat. Walang kuentang bata. Bilis-bilis magulat.”* It’s a joke. It’s okay.

But when Ivan was scratching his face and eyes with his fingers, I hold Ivan’s hands. I gently hold his hand because that’s the way one should handle babies. But baby Ivan kicked a little, maybe unaware of me around or something. Mother-in-law was holding Ivan, kalong-kalong. My mother-in-law told me, “Dahan-dahan naman. Kanina pa sya nagugulat eh.”*, with matching frown on her face.

I don’t know about Filipinos. I’m not sure with modern Chinese. I’m not sure with Chinese from China. I’m not sure with Filipino-Chinese. But, should it be always like that? Ako lagi ang masama. Ako lagi ang gumagawa ng kasalanan. Ako na nga ang gumagawa ng pera, which is sometimes mas malaki compare sa asawa ko, tapos ganun lang. Ganun ba talaga pag daughter-in-law ka.

I know someone (a daughter-in-law too) na kumikita ng limpak-limpak na salapi. Double ang kita nya compare sa husband nya. Pero ayun, ganun pa ren. Sya pa ren ang masama lagi sa bahay. By the way, Chinese ren sya and yung napangasawa nya.

Ang hirap naman ng buhay!!!

* conversations above is in Chinese. Converted lang for this blog.

Furnitures for my dream home

Now that we have moved out, our furnitures are still the same. We just rent the house so we are not able to buy new furnitures. Moving out and transferring to a new home is so hard. But one day, we are planning to have our own home, a house that is not rented, and which we are free to design and do whatever we want. Then that would be great to buy some Designer Furniture for our dream house. Well, it doesn’t hurt to dream right? Maybe someday, we would get rich!

I do prefer Modern Furniture for my home. I like a clear, modern, lighted house to boost my energy on doing what I must do. I believe loving what you have, like your home, do give a good aura. And other designs that are on my list, and are always on other’s list, are the Contemporary Furniture and the Italian design.

I think many do really prefer the Italian Furniture as it says the high-class social living. My husband got some relatives with dining room of that theme. When I see their place, I was so amazed I kept looking on the chairs and the tables. Anyway, I hope one day we would have our own home and great furnitures.

The Association Party Last Sunday…

September 16, 2008

Last Sunday, we attended an association party celebrating the mooncake festival. My husband chocobread had already blogged about some of what happened that day.

I am so happy to see my baby so so so happy that day. When we arrived, he was sleepy and after some few minutes, he was sleeping in my arms. His next feeding time was 1:00pm. The food was served on 1:30pm. So I was eating while holding baby Ivan. Ang hirap but that’s ok :)

2:00pm and Ivan is still sleeping! I think he was sleeping so well because the restaurant was air-conditioned, and kalong-kalong sya. Some minutes later, he woke up but he was so so so happy. He was smiling and laughing all by himself. He really was so happy he forgot he needs to drink his milk. About 2:30pm, he asked for his milk.

I still feel sick up to now. My joints are still aching a little, even last Sunday. I’m still coughing. And sumisinghot pa ako kasi may sipon pa ako.

Pahabol. Nagpoopoo si Ivan around 3:30pm last Sunday at the restaurant. He cried so hard so I rushed him to the comfort room to change his diaper. Well, he just have a little little poopoo. Sa isip ko, “Ang tindi naman umiyak, eh super duper konti lang yung poopoo, parang mantsa lang.”

Chocobread and I were so happy hearing all the praises to our little Ivan. Everyone said that Ivan is a cute little baby boy. Wala talagang kapalit ang marinig mo sa ibang tao na ang baby mo ay super cute :p

Ivan turns out cute on the picture. And parang sinadya yung ganung kuha. Pero hindi! Hindi nisadya ni choco yung ganung kuha. Aya, nagmukha tuloy makulit si Ivan.

May mga times na ganun ang kuha nya, madami!!!

Kaya there are pictures that I can’t upload kasi ang nakikita kay Ivan is yung paa, tyan and baba ni Ivan.

I’ll be attending the wedding reception at dinner time. I can’t attend the wedding ceremony scheduled on 1:00pm because we have another party to attend. The party is to celebrate… hmmmmmmm… I don’t know. But there’s a raffle and hope we can get some prizes!

Should I reveal my blogs to my friends?

Before, I was trying to hide my blogs from my friends and relatives. After two years, I decided to put my blog URL, the Berry Blog, to my Friendster account. I’m trying to share my blog to my family, friends, relatives, classmates and officemates. But I think no one have visited my blog, or maybe I just don’t know. So I was thinking of just taking it off. I still have second thought.

Lately, I have been “recruiting” a friend who I know would surely benefit from earning online money. She is married. They are living with his guy’s family and relatives in a family owned building as what I know. They had no children yet. She has not yet been serious with her OB to check about her polycystic case. I had given her my blog URL. And maybe next time, I would be giving my blog URL too to other friends (girls) whom I think would need to earn online.

That’s another story.

The topic right now is “Should I reveal my blogs to my friends?” I want to answer… “I don’t want to share my blog. My blog is for online friends. They are not for my friends.”

But to help some friends, I would reveal my blog to them. And eventually, more and more friends would discover my blog.

Telemarketer Abuse

Just last last month at the office, there was a telemarketer that has been calling me to sign-up for a credit card. I would want to have a credit card but I refused this guy to assist me on credit card application. What I know is when you work as a telemarketer, your voice should be clear, and when you talk, people must hear a professional talking (at least a little). The guy was talking like a street junky! Then I was thinking, this maybe a fraud. There is something wrong.

I wanted to know his number but I have no way of tracing him. If I didn’t entertain this guy, maybe some would. And that’s a bad story. If having a Phone Info Tracer to know the number of that guy, which seems that he is just in his own sweet home calling, then I would sure to trace him down.

Earning Money From Your Blog

September 7, 2008

If there is such a book, and if that book is for real where one can follow a quick guide on how to earn thousands of dollars by just blogging, I would be lining up just to get that book!!! But we are not on the dream world. We are living in a situation where one should raise money for ones future.

I have been blogging since year 2005. And this year 2008, I have started to make friends with other bloggers, and even started earning money from my blog.

As for me, the “Dummies” book above does not exist. It doesn’t, really. I just made that book from a free generator. A bloggers who starts to blog, and then started to earn money online, did learn from his experience on how to be an effective blogger both for blogging interest and of course financial interest.

So, what have I learned about how to earn from blogging?

If you want to earn from blogging, you should start from somewhere.

You have to have a blog, if you don’t have one. To know more about what you can get from blogging, here’s a quick tip from Chicken Heart. There are also some books available that would introduce you about blogging plus how to earn from it.

You like to earn from blogging, but does not want to blog.

Now, that’s a problem. How can you earn from blogging if you don’t want to blog. Wy not try to blog for a month or two. Anyway, you can start earning from your blog after about three (3) months from your first blog post. If you can maintain posting to your blog regularly, then that’s a good start. If you can’t, maybe you must drop the idea.

What should my posts be related to?

What is your interest? You can have a personal blog, or a blog that is related to technology or shopping or any other specific topic.

How to earn from blogging?

You actually earn from blogging by writing blog posts that is related to the advertisers requirement. You put links of the advertiser’s website on your post and talk about it.

Important things your blog should meet to earn from blogging.

Google PageRank scores your blog or website from 0 to 10, 0 being the lowest. Check your PageRank at http://www.prchecker.info/. Advertisers love blogs with higher PageRank.

And your site should also have visitors. The more visitors you get, the more earnings you get. Put on your feed burner link on your blog. Set-up some community-related widgets to get more visitor.

Feed Burner?

Feed Burner allows visitors of your site to subscribe to your blog. You can add a Feed Burner widget or a link to your blog to get subscribers. Check out http://www.feedburner.com/.

Setting up some community related widgets.

Sign-up and up widgets of these services to your blog:

My Blog Log - http://www.mybloglog.com/
BlogCatalog - http://www.blogcatalog.com/
Technorati - http://www.technorati.com/

Add a chat box too to your blog. If you don’t want a chat box, that would just be fine.

cbox - http://cbox.ws/

There are actually other alternatives and other widgets that can help you get visitors to your site. Try to check other bloggers’ site and search the Internet.

Start Blogging!!!

Enjoy blogging. Enjoy making new friends online. Enjoy learning more knowledge. Search on the Internet on pay-to-post opportunities that you can join so you can start earning money.

*** Notes ***

- I don’t know if there are people earning thousands of dollars per month. How I wish I can.

I know your number!!!

I have always wish to have a scanner where I can check who’s that “Prank Caller“. I hate prank callers. And sometimes, there would be prank callers who would call every midnight, and he won’t just answer any single question you ask.

So the more you hate him, the more he is having fun. And what’s to loose, you don’t know what his number. You don’t know his number, you won’t be able to trace him. So if you can tell him what his number is, and you would do action about his being nasty, I’m sure he would stop calling you.

China’s One Child Policy

September 2, 2008

I thought China’s “One Child Policy” was demolished after China opens her gate to embrace the world. The rule still exist!!! There are two different rules depending on the “situation”. What is the “situation”? I can’t clearly understand what my husband and mother-in-law was explaining to me. But I guess it’s about on what part of China you live, or maybe on where you work????

Anyway the two different rules for the two different situation:
1. Only one child and you can’t have another one.
2. If your first child is a girl, you can try again to have a boy for the second time. You can only have two children.

They say you should pay for an amount so you can keep your unborn child. But as what my husband have told me, the government would inject something on the pregnant woman to “kill” the baby inside. This situation happens if they found out you are pregnant again. But when you get to “trick” them and managed to give birth to your unborn child, then you would have to pay for the fee.

When Jealousy Breaks Loose…

August 29, 2008

I am having a sensitive issue at the house. Or is it just me???

The wife of my cousin-in-law (is there a such term?) arrived at our house on August 26, 2008. She would be staying at our house up to October 31, 2008. I’m not sure about the date but that’s what my husband told me. She came from China. She is 3-months pregnant for her 2nd child. She’s planning to give birth in HongKong. She’s here in the Philippines because when their local government had decided to get her for being pregnant again, she would be forced to be injected by something to abort the child on her womb. That’s what my husband told me. About the China government and pregnancy, that’s another story that I think I have to explain on other post.

My parent-in-law are from China. Their heart are still of China’s. My husband on the other hand, I would say that he is also “from China”. I am a Chinese. But I’m not from China. My heart is here on the Philippines. Maybe I am not like the Filipinos. I am not also of the Chinese from China. I am a Filipino-Chinese. As my blog title says… “Tsinay” And I think I have explained this over and over on my old posts.

I felt jealous with the pregnant woman on our house. She is a good woman as I see and feel. But I really feel awkward with the situation. They are all from China. I am not. Am I that sensitive?

On the first dinner with the pregnant woman, father-in-law cooked lugaw/congee. The congee is not like that on Chowking or on Chinese restaurants. The congee is cooked with kamote (sweet potatoes, tama ba?). People from China are used to eating that everyday, well I’m not sure of today’s generation. Then eating time, and my mother-in-law asked me “Can you eat that?”

What a question to ask!!! They have asked me that question before and I know they are just concerned if I can eat that. Of course I can! I have told them before that they don’t have to cook rice for me if they would be eating lugaw with kamote. Before, they do cook rice just for me. But that day and the next days, no rice for me. And they have cooked more dishes since the pregnant woman came.

Then while I’m eating the lugaw that night with husband and the woman, husband told me that “She can carry two 5 gallon mineral water bottles. She’s that strong. Can you?” I answered “I can’t.” and was just about to smile when the woman quickly said that “She’s working in the office. Of course, how can she carry such. I am just working at home.” That’s so good of her.

To hubby: Do you really need to tell to all my quirks, that I’m not that strong? That I’m this and that and this and that? You really want to embarrass me?

Then, the pregnant woman is always serving the lugaw to the bowls of my parents-in-law. And I, as the daughter-in-law of my husband’s parents, is just getting the food for me. I am so tired of my work as a programmer, then at night I would be taking care of my baby. I know that is just one way of her saying thanks. But I felt like useless. I just hope they are not enjoying that too much.

Yeah I’m Fat. So What!?!

August 26, 2008

I really don’t get it why “some” people around me can’t just stop telling me that I am fat. Yeah I’m fat. So what is your problem. There’s more than one person who did that comment.

First of all, what can I do? I have given birth last June 3, 2008. What do they expect? Do they want me to get a needle and operate myself to make me thinner? I just don’t get it. There are more people who are even fatter than me, even double my width! Okay, maybe their friends or sisters had also given birth but retains their shape. Well, sorry to say, I am not one of them.

At least I have a baby now. I don’t care what people say to me. And what have I learned on some people with the same problem as mine? “Why, are they the one who is feeding me? Are they giving me allowance? And so what is their concern?”

And now I would want to ask those who are saying that I am fat fat fat.
- I have just given birth. Haven’t you seen someone who have just gave birth that is fat like me?
- Yeah, you love being sexy. So, can you take the risk of giving birth and being fat?
- I now have a son. I love my son. I don’t care much if I’m fat. Are you envy of how I feel?
- I would be back to my original shape one day. Maybe not like before but at least more thinner than right now. What would be your next comment.

Most of those who commented that I am fat are girls that have no child yet. It would be okay for me if they “say” that I am fat. But it’s not okay if it’s an “insult”. And I know some of them, they comments are of “insult” type. And that they are laughing deep inside that I’m fat.

Sorry to say this but, I am happily married with a child. Are you?

Chinese Noodles for Me!!!

August 17, 2008

My parents-in-law had gone a little “shopping” on a Chinese store on the market. The store’s items is all for sale because it would be closed after three months of operation.

They bought noodles and other stuff. Those are Chinese foods from China. The noodles are especially for me.

And more noodles…

And more!!!

That orange box of noodles are of beef flavor. So that means mother-in-law would not be eating those.

The other stuff they bought are gelatin on the tetra-pack. Too many of those yeheyyyyyy!!! And some preserved beans on the can.

Too many Chinese food now on the cabinet, tables and refrigerator. I just wonder how long would it take us to eat all of those. There are even more noodles on the cabinet!

Infection on my belly button!!!

August 11, 2008

I got an infection on my belly button!!! Just imagine… stuck a jolen ball (holen) on your belly button. And the half portion of that jolen ball is “proudly” surfaced in the air. That’s what it looks it on my belly button! I can’t even see my belly button with the infection.

The reason of the infection? I don’t know. The cut on my ceasarian operation is a little far from my belly button. So I don’t exactly know why. Maybe I have not cleaned that portion :p

Hygiene problem? Hahaha maybe, I guess.

The infection has been around 3 weeks to date. Last two days ago, those slimy yellowish thing popped-out. I’m not sure if there are still inside. What happened on my medication?

1st Week:
I didn’t do anything. Since I have an schedule with my OB for the next week, I thought of just telling her about the infection on my visit.

2nd Week:
OB told me to take Zinnat for a week, 2 times a day. And there’s a cream that I have to put on the infection. Zinnat is an anti-biotic. The medicines cost around 1,500 PHP. Nothing happened.

3rd Week:
Mother-in-law was getting worried with the infection. She told hubby to go to the Chinese skin doctor at Manila. The doctor is from China. And I think he is good. I was taking his medications until now.

The medicine:
I don’t know what are the brands of the medicine I’m taking. Anyway, it’s my last this day. These are the three medicines I’m taking.

The paper with the Chinese characters say something like… “Take 2 tablets each, 3 times a day.”

I also have this “brown paste” that I put on the infection.

When you opened the ball, it looks like…

The brown ball would be disolve in a wine to become a paste, like…

Okay. About the wine. The doctor said “wine”. Hubby have thought of buying a San Miguel Beer! Mother-in-law said it should be a white colored wine. Thanks God! Father-in-law told hubby to buy a gin. Hubby came back with a Vodka!!! What the!!!

I asked hubby if he had asked the cashier if it’s a gin. Hubby told me…”I asked if it’s a wine. The cashier said yes.” I said… “Of course it’s a wine. But it’s not a gin.” Hmmmm anyway, it’s white. Bahala na si God sa akin.

Then there’s this sticky brownish thing that serves as the cover to prevent more infection.

I would be heated, the brown portion, so it would become sticky. And the ending of it on my belly button…

Please excuse my belly button hehehe…

So, Mother-in-law wants to be out…

August 5, 2008

I have blogged about my another reason why I should resign at http://berryblitz79.blogspot.com/2008/07/another-reason-to-resign.html

Now for an update. I have heard my mother-in-law asking my husband… “I haven’t heard any news from the new shop of your brother.” Then my husband says, “Maybe they are still on the process.”

Then this one shocked me… monther-in-law said, “How can he take care of the shop alone. Atleast there should be someone else to be with him on that shop.” The “him” is my father-in-law. So, she wants to help take care of her other son’s shop. Why, won’t they hire some employees to assist the customers?

My parents-in-law are living with us because they are in “war” with their other daughter-in-law (their son#1’s wife who is owning the shop). Now, just with one click of son#1, they would go and leave my Ivan? If they want, they can go and live with son#1 and leave us. I can resign from my work, hire a maid to help me at the household chores. If they want it like that, then be it.

I am still waiting for them. And I told my husband to not just tell me that both his parents would be out to take care of the shop the next day. I can’t leave my work like that.

Why I’m posting it here at my Tsinay Blog instead of the Berry Blog? Because this is a more personal for me, and more hate and hurt on my heart.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

July 25, 2008

I have a hard time getting pregnant. I have a “Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome” (PCOS). Women with irregular menstruation are known to have this PCOS.

According to Wiki, PCOS is “the most common hormonal disorder among women of reproductive age, and is a leading cause of infertility.[2][3] The principal features are weight problems, lack of regular ovulation and/or menstruation, and excessive amounts or effects of androgenic (masculinizing) hormones. The symptoms and severity of the syndrome vary greatly between women. While the causes are unknown, insulin resistance, diabetes and obesity are all strongly correlated with PCOS.”

Someone had sent me an email regarding PCOS. She was asking how I get pregnant. She was having the same problem with me, how to get pregnant. I was happy to share to her how my OB had helped me. So I am sharing to all people by posting here the “routine” the OB had made with us.

Here is how I get pregnant, with my OB’s instructions:

Step 1: Take drug to menstruate. This would just simple make you menstruate. You and your OB would not like to wait for months to do the next step.

Step 2: After a few days (I forgot, 5 days I think) take Clomid. Clomid helps to make women ovulate.

Step 3: After a few days (I forgot again) I should have ovulated. I have an sched with my OB to check if I ovulated through ultrasound.

Step 4: I did not ovulate. On the ultrasound result…”with __ numbers of follicles”. If I do ovulate, the result should be something like… “with one mature follicle”. The mature follicle, that’s the egg that have successfully ovulated. OB said to take the drug to make me menstruate again. So back to Step 1.

After a round on Step 1, my OB told me to increase my Clomid intake. After a few more rounds. My OB said to take Clomid with Metformin. Metformin is a drug for diabetes which has a side-effect. It’s side-effect? It makes woman ovulate. Now, that’s a nice side-effect. After a round with Metformin, I still did not ovulate. So this time, my OB told me to increase my Metformin intake. Then I get pregnant.

And by the way, after Step 4 and I didn’t ovulate, my OB told me to do Step 1. There’s no need to wait for weeks. My self-made reason: “What would I wait for? I didn’t ovulate. Those follicles are now useless. Better flush them up. And so I can take Clomid (and Metformin) so try if I will ovulate again.

I know many women does have the same problem with me. I was newbie then with this PCOS thing. I really don’t understand everything. So I do some research of my own even when I’m checking with my OB. I want to make sure that my OB is doing right.

And another thing, my OB said that women who have goiter would have problem on ovulating.

I hope this post helps you understand on how actually the treatment goes. If you are newly married and you have irregular menstruation, more likely you would have the same problem I have before. So after trying to conceive for about 6 months and you failed, you can check an OB for help. OBs usually say that they consider couples to have problems on having a baby after a month. But with that situation, it is sure that you would have a hard time getting pregnant. Or you might not get pregnant at all if you don’t see an OB. So don’t waste your time. I think I went to my OB after 6.

Hope I have helped a lot. I would be happy to hear some comments from you guys.

Wonbi-D for me…

July 24, 2008

A few days ago, afternoon after lunch, I was feeling dizzy at work… really dizzy. Then the other day morning, my mother-in-law gave me a box of I think are food supplements. I’m not really sure what they are. I’m not sure if they are food supplements or energy drink. It’s a box with 10 bottles. And a box costs 300 PHP.

At the office, I quickly search on about the food supplement, or whatever it is. I can’t understand what the bottle and box label and description says. Everything is in Korean language!

Okay, here’s what it is…

WONBI-D Vitamins of Il-Yang Pharm.

1 bottle(100ml) contains Ginseng, Lycium Fruit ,Vit.B6, Vit.B2 , other 3 kinds of Vitamin

Supplement and improvement of hepatic function, tonic, recovery of fatigue, weak constitution

It is an energy drink. But my boss told me that energy boosters does “boost” you to your limit. You’ll fell strong. But after that, when you stop drinking them, you’ll feel weak. That is because your body and mind is relying on that energy booster. If you drink everyday, that means that you do all the work without feeling tired most of the time. But actually, your body is tired. You just have the energy to go on and on. When the booster’s effect is gone, the your body would then feel the fatigue.

But Wonbi-D has no caffeine. All of the said ingredients are nutritions to our body. I’m not sure how my body would react if I stop drinking the Wonbi-D vitamins. But as of my I have experience, maybe I’m still sleepy, but I still gets going. Maybe it’s because of Wonbi-D.

My money goes to…

July 22, 2008

Jean told me to keep track of expenses, our family expenses. Hi Jean. I’m pasting your comment here for safe-keeping. Binabalikan ko kasi mga posts ko minsan pag masama ang loob ko. I do read my old posts :)

Jean says…

Kami rin ganon. We didn’t track (and I didn’t do this when I was single either) our expenses until months into our marriage and we started wondering where our money was going.

All the while, we both think that we live frugally but the money just disappears! So we started tracking, we keep an excel spreadsheet (downloaded one from Pear Budget before, pwede ko share if you like) and we tracked our expenses by category - dining out, groceries, activities, his & mine, home expenses, maintenance, etc. Ayun. Ang lakas pala namin mag eat out and we spend a lot on activities (buying gear or specialty clothing / equipment).

Try nyo i keep track, maski for a few months lang para ma pinpoint nyo yung mga areas na pwede tipirin, if meron. Kung wala na kayong matitipid pang areas, then alam nyong you’re doing the best that you could and yung best step is to go out & look for additional sources of income na.

Good luck :) Let me know if you want me to send you the budget spreadsheet.

I do keep track my expenses before I’m married. I only keep track when I feel I’m eating and expending too much. At the start of the day that I’m married, lahat gastos!

Here’s the reasons, one reason after another…

  • After getting married, my hubby’s earnings is so small. And he even had three months straight without earning anything.
  • His earnings has increase, but I’m seeing an OB to get pregnant. Lot’s of expenses on medicines and ultrasounds. And I do still help on other expenses.
  • When I get pregnant, my first trimester is hell! I got blood for about three weeks. I was sent to the hospital and stayed there for three days. I took medicines for my baby. I stayed home for two months. So I wasn’t able to help hubby on all the expenses.
  • December 2007, I’m still on my leave, recovering… playing Diablo II for about an hour or two. I felt dizzy. I also do blogging. And that time, I found out that I can earn from my blog. I’m actually trying on how much time I can stay on the computer before I get dizzy and waisted. It’s December and I was planning to get back to work on the next month. I was back at work on January 16. I also started earning money online.
  • Check up, vitamins, ultrasounds…
  • Now, have expenses on my baby
Other expenses that uses cash. When it’s cash, it’s from my salary or from my online earnings.

  • car gasoline. well not always.
  • water bill
  • LPG tank
  • everyday food and groceries

Parents-in-law’s “enjoyment”. Expenses I can’t control. But if I can, I don’t want to have those expenses.

  • Gifts to my brother-in-law’s two daughters on their birthdays. When one has a gift, the other should have one too. And they spend 500 PHP each for each kid.
  • When mother-in-law give gifts to some of their relatives on China. Not too much but it is still considered a cost.
  • The hmmm ancestor home in China. Someone from China would say they we (I mean they) need to contribute for the repair or beautification, they would. I really really really hate that idea.
  • Mother-in-law was playing mahjong before I gave birth. It’s a small amount of bet. But it’s still expenses.

Thanks Jean for offering the software. But I don’t think I can ever use it. I would want too. But my hubby might think that I’m controlling my money. And my mother-in-law is taking care of my baby while I’m at work (I have another issue about this. It would be on my another post.) So I guess I should be thankful about it and just let them have their extra expenses. Let them be happy.

But starting next month, I should be planning on…

  • my baby’s future. maybe opening a kiddie account.
  • an educational plan?
  • my SSS and Philhealth, maybe I have to start contributing. This serves as my insurance.

So much expenses, so little to save. I should compute my online income instead and save some of them I guess.

Advertise on Blogs

July 18, 2008

Nowadays, advertising through blogs is in. Why? Lots of interested people are looking for the things they like and need on the Internet. And blog is a powerful tool for advertising. Many online searching tools point searches to blogs. A what is good about blogs is that people do leave comments if they like what they see. So when you advertise on a blog, you get extra automatic credits of having other consumers’ comments just for your company.

And how much does it cost to advertise on blogs? Advertising on blogs is called “advertise on budget“. You know how much it is worth advertising in the newspaper. You know how much it cost advertising on televisions and radios. But most companies can not actually advertise on televisions, radios and even in newspaper. But on blogs, you can. With just a budgeted amount of fee, you get to advertise to a lot of blogs. And blogs do have readers. And those readers usually are interested on new things and ideas. And they usually check out the links they see that are new to them. So, it is actually worth it.

If you want to try to advertise your goods and services on blogs, you might want to check out http://www.bloggersreview.com.

So, she’s not too bad after all…

I have blogged about “her”, my hubby’s brother’s wife, on http://berryblitz79.blogspot.com/2007/06/hate-that-wont-heal-in-me.html. She’s the one who wore the sleeveless shirt and maong shorts on the picture on that blog post.

I hate her for ruining our picture. I hate her for hating my husband. I know she has a reason to hate him. But why hate him. He is not her husband. What did my husband do to her.

My mother says that she is a good person, that it’s my husband and his parents who are “different”. And so, maybe it’s true. I know I’m too good to my husband. I told him that as long as he is earning something, that he is happy, then I don’t care how much he earns a month, as long as his earnings plus earnings can buy us food, provide good shelter to us, education to our child, and maybe some savings.

I think… “Tanga talaga ako. I love my husband so much. I want a good relationship with my parents-in-law. I provide money to them.” I think I better save some for myself. Or I guess I can start saving money by opening a kiddie account for my son as early as next month.

My mother is right. She is not that bad after all. I have just talked to her the past few days. My husband and I went and visit her to see her new born son. And I’m happy to know that she doesn’t hate me.

House Repaint

I have bumped into a site where they offer house painting jobs done by interns. Interns meaning students. Well, do not be afraid that your house would get dirty paint jobs. They are of course supervised. And hey, they are students, meaning, they have learned the painting job on schools. That would be a nice touch to your house. At least you are sure that those people painting your house have actually the knowledge of how to paint a house the “right way”.

And painting jobs really does cost a lot! But collegeworks.com does it fare and even has a great customer service. But for me, one of the best thing getting their service is helping more students gain experience. You get it at one bang. Your house gets repainted with quality, you get good customer support, and you help students. Go check
http://mysite.verizon.net/cwp286/collegeworkspainting/index.html
for their painting job.

Need a house repaint? Let collegeworkspainting.com do their job for you.

I have started working 8 hours a day. So baby Ivan would only see me in the morning and at night. When I went home this evening, he was laughing without sound when he saw me. He is only one and a half month old. Actually, a few more days before becoming 1 1/2 month old.

I am so glad that Ivan is happy to see me. I’m so glad that even if I can’t take care of him even at night, he smiles and laughs when he sees me…

Niece’s head bumped on my one month old baby’s head!

July 6, 2008

Last night, my brother-in-law came with his two daughters. Baby Ivan was in his stroller sleeping. The two girls was so excited and strolled Ivan. My mother-in-law was holding the stroller handle to make Ivan safe. That was okay with me.

But the younger girl was shouting. Ivan was still sleeping. I hate it but I was still okay. I asked my husband to stop playing computer and fix it up. He did.

Then Ivan woke up because of the noise. He cried. Mother-in-law tried to give water to Ivan. She was sitting on our bed. The two girls came. The younger girl was trying to hold Ivan’s drinking bottle. Mother-in-law won’t let her hold the bottle but she was not doing enough to hold back her granddaughters. Then the girl pulled Ivan’s hand a little. I really got irritated and I think my face shows a little angry.

Then the younger daughter climbed up the bed. My husband was trying to tell her to go down the bed because of her dirty feet. The girl and my husband were pushing and pulling until her head got bumped on Ivan’s head!!!

I’m not sure if it’s a little bump. I guess it is. But Ivan cried for about 5 seconds. Then that moment, I spoke in Chinese… “Iyen-iyen had her head bumped on Ivan’s head!”. Then later, I repeat it two times speaking in Tagalog. Mother-in-law can’t understand Tagalog.

My husband said, “Kids are kids. She does not know about it.” I told him, “So you mean it’s okay for your for a kid to bump his head on your son’s head? Your son is only a month old. Don’t you love your son. Is that how much you love your niece? Do you love her more than your son? And yes, you know kids are kids. Then why don’t your mother-in-law do something so the ‘kid’ won’t be able to hurt her grandson?”

And I also told my husband, “I can’t control the two girls. They are not related to me. You have to check the two whenever they come here. How can I tell them to stop holding and playing with your son? How can I hold Ivan and go somewhere where the two can’t reach him? I’m am nobody. Your parents might say that I don’t want your son to be close with your niece. You are the one who should be controlling them.”

In short, MAHIRAP MAKIALAM. BAKA SABIHIN NILA NAPAKADELIKADO KO!!!

The turtoise are getting away!!!

July 1, 2008

The turtoise had got their brains and feet and had got away from the pails of water. Last night, midnight to about morning, some turtoise were making noise and was roaming around the house.

And they thought they can get away with it. Poor tortoise.

Turtoise as Food

My husband had just came back from Batangas. Along with him… buko pie and 10 turtoise. I’m not sure if it is called a turtoise or a turtle. It doesn’t matter to me. Let’s just call them turtoise.

Those turtoise are to be cooked. It’s a Chinese delicacy. They are very nutritious, but I really don’t like eating them. I hate seeing the shell on the soup!

And my favorite pet is turtle. So it kind of hurting me seeing them on the soup and on my bowl.

My Husband, Ivan and I

June 27, 2008

Last night, I have a “bonding moment” with my husband and Ivan. It’s around 1:30 am when Ivan wokes up for his milk. My husband wokes up too because of Ivan’s super loud cry. Ivan can’t just wait for me to prepare his milk.

Then Ivan does not seem to be sleepy. So my husband is playing with him at around 2:00 am. Then it’s Ivan’s poopoo time upto 2:30 am. After that, it’s play time again. So I got to check some opportunities to write to earn some. Lucky I got two!!!

At 2:45 am, my husband is sleeping hard. At 3:00 am, I made Ivan sleep. The end.

Ivan and My Husband

My husband is known to be careless. Now that he is a father, he is still careless! I always tell him to please stop making noise. But he still does.

It’s hard to make Ivan sleep. I guess he should try and take care of Ivan the whole day so he’ll know how hard it is…

He has actually made Ivan to sleep some times. But he still doesn’t know how hard it is if Ivan wakes up and would cry because of some noise or because if Ivan finds out he is on the bed. There’s always someone to the rescue. If there would be no one to make Ivan stop crying, maybe he’ll stop making noises.

Sharing The Love

June 21, 2008

Thanks to isah marie for this tag…

This award is extra special because Crystal created it in honor of the donor who saved her sons life. Her son Noah had to have a heart transplant when he was just over a month old. This award is supposed to help raise awareness of the importance of organ donation.

So, here are the rules Crystal gave:

“The rules of this award are: SHARE THE LOVE!!! Share this award with all those blogs out there that you love. All the people who make you smile. All those that make you laugh. All those that make your day. All those that leave uplifting comments on your blog. **All I ask, is that you include a link to this post with the award and ask your recipient to do the same**

As you may have recently seen on my side bar, I have finally created a custom blog award!! I have wanted to do this for a long time but never came up with something that “fit”. I didn’t want just anything. It had to be something that meant something to me. And what could mean more than Sharing the Love by giving you pieces of my heart??

So I created this award in Honor Of The Donor That Saved Noah’s Life . I share this award with those of you whose love and friendship have enriched my life and made my world a better place.

I hope by passing this award around the blogging world we can all help raise awareness of the need for Organ Donation.”

Anyone can snag this and help circulate the love…

Please don’t say we are stupid…

June 20, 2008

Now I have a son, some of the old Chinese people here are talking about the “celebration”. They are the Chinese from China… my parents-in-law and some of their relatives. I can’t say that the “celebration” is the baptismal thing. But yes, baptismal is important for them because they know the child would need it when he starts studying here.

They are talking about the people here in the Philippines buying the white dress for the baby. And they are kind of “laughing” about it. They say people here have so many of those “do this and do that”. Well, how about them? They have those cultures on wedding that you won’t expect. They need to give away jewerlies, buy cigarettes for the guest, and so on and so on and so on…

And so pleaseeeeeeeee will they shut up!

God Has Amazing Things in Store for You

Stars do not struggle to shine; rivers do not struggle to flow, and you will never struggle to excel in life, because you deserve the best. Hold on to your dream and it shall be well with you… Amen.

The eyes beholding this message shall not behold evil, the hand that will send this message to others shall not labor in vain, the mouth saying Amen to this prayer shall laugh forever, remain in God’s love. Good morning, your dream will not die, your plans will not fail, your destiny will not be aborted, and the desire of your heart will be granted in Jesus’ name.

Say a big Amen and if you believe it, send it to all your friends. Blessings will know your name and address beginning this day. None goes to the river early in the morning and brings dirty water. As you are up this morning, may your life be clean, calm and clear like the early morning water. May the grace of the Almighty support, sustain and supply all your needs according to His riches and glory. Amen.

Love the Lord. Have a wonderful day in Jesus’ name.
The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you.
Remember You are Blessed beyond all curses in Jesus’ name (John 10:10)

Po Ge Lai

June 17, 2008

I’m on my “po ge lai”. “Po ge lai” is a Chinese term meaning something like “the period when a woman who have given birth would be regaining her strength”. This is a one month period only.

So what’s with “po ge lai”? I’m eating black chicken and fishes everyday. I can drink cold drinks. I have to stay home. No eating of those icecream and other stuff. I really can’t believe I’m eating black chicken. I don’t want to eat those stuff. I’m having the black chicken everyday. And that means that I have the head and feet of the chicken as leftover for anyone who wants to eat them :) I really don’t eat chicken head and feet.

Another thing, I have not yet taken a bath after the labor. I can’t even touch cold water. But it’s hard too always get hot water just to wash my hands. When my baby cries, I don’t have that time to have hot water for washing my hands. Shhhhh…..

Two more weeks to go and I’m done with “po ge lai”.

Almost got stuck on elevator…

June 2, 2008

I went home early today, at around 5:15 pm. My husband dropped me home then went to somewhere else (I don’t know where) with his clients.

When I arrived home after taking the elevator, after about a minute or two, there was a brown-out!!! I can’t imagine myself being stuck on an elevator, now that I’m still pregnant. And I’m not sure if the emergency button on the elevator has still its worth.

Lucky me. A little late and I would be stuck for an hour inside. Same luck with what happened with my husband on the elevator?

Earn Permanent Monthly Income

May 30, 2008

Hi to all. I just want to share to you another way on how I earn on my website and blog. This is a permanent monthly income. This means that you would only set thing up once and get monthly payments. This is open to both websites and even blogs :) Cheers to all of us.

How it works:

  1. You join in and add your website or even your blog. You can add upto 5 websites/blogs. And each website, you can add upto 5 pages.
  2. You would wait until they found an advertiser for the pages you submitted.
  3. You will be informed if they have found one. You’ll need to put a banner to that page.
That’s it. They pay £3.00 GBP per page. GBP is almost double of US Dollar. My first received payment from them is £17.00 GBP.

I’m actually waiting to receive funds from them before I encourage people to join in. So I’ll be sure that I’m not promoting a hoax or a spam :)

This is for all people who wants to earn more. And to all my co-bloggers who are earning money from blogging. Guys, this is a permanent income. So I’ll be receiving £17.00 GBP monthly, and hopefully would get more until my other pages gets advertisers.

Late Comer…

May 28, 2008

I’m a late comer on work. I won’t deny it. I’m trying not to. But the nature of my work, and maybe my work style, is like that.

Many programmers are really late comers. Yesterday, I arrived at around quarter to 10 am at the office. That’s about 45 minutes late. But I got home late too, too late at around 8:45 pm because my husband arrived late to take me home.

So today, I also arrived late, again at around quarter to 10 am at the office. The reason… I do have a series of dinner at night. My usual dinner time is 6:30 pm or 7:00 pm. Last night, I have my dinner at around 9:00 pm. So my series of dinner ends up late, starting from 11:30pm to almost 2:00 pm. Yups, that’s my life.

After pregnancy labor, I hope everything would be back to normal. I mean, no more series of dinner. But I know I would be still a late comer, unless I control myself :p

My hubby almost got stuck on the elevator…

May 17, 2008

Brown-outs are always the cause of bad weather.  And every now and then, there are brown-outs.  My husband went down to check on our car even if it’s parked on the "safe zone".  He always does that, maybe to have a little walk and smoke a cigarette.

Our rented unit is on the 6th floor.

Just a few minutes ago, he told me that he’d go check our car.  He took the elevator.  And in just a few seconds, the computer shut down and the lights went out.  I ran out the room and checked if the elevator lights indicator is on.  There’s no light!  And he hadn’t brought his mobile phone with him.

I waited for some minutes.  Then the poor guy told us that he had almost got stucked on the elevator.  Lucky for him the elevator opened on the 5th floor.  When the elevator is about to close, the elevator light was flickering and he quickly ran out.

Lucky guy.  I was laughing but told him that I got worried.

Could You Be Violent?

May 16, 2008
There’s a Chance You Could Be Violent

Overall, you’re a pretty chill person - and you have a good handle on your emotions.
Sometimes your anger gets the best of you, and end up regretting how you act.
Try to curb your temper more often. It only has to get out of control once to do some damage.

Could You Be Violent?

My mother always tell me to shut up. I can’t control my mouth I know that I’m right. I really have a problem with my temper. But I am trying to control it. Yeah, I can be violent at times. But the bear on the images just looks like it wants to kill someone. Well, I’m not that type :p

Your Risk Taking Level: Medium-Low

You’ll take a risk if you have to, but you prefer to err on the side of caution.
If something looks like it’s going to work out, you may just go for it.

But frivolous risks like gambling totally aren’t your style.
You prefer to have as much control over your life as possible.

Are You a Risk Taker?

I saw this test and was thinking of how risk taker am I.  I was thinking that I’m a little risk taker when it comes to looking for a new job, but of course I still think wisely about it.  The result of the test was actually what I expect :)

One Month Before Labor…

May 10, 2008

Just this week, I started to feel different again.  I felt heavier and fatter (is fatter the right term?).  I also felt my tummy is bigger.  I’m having a hard time breathing and walking.

And I again lost my appetite to eat home-cooked food.  I am not craving for french fries, tacos and palabok and fetuccini like I used to on my second to fourth month of pregnancy.  I am craving for foods that I have not even tasted yet.  Actually, I don’t know what I want to eat!  What I only know is that I want to eat those tasty juicy high-priced restaurant food and desserts.  I know I can’t buy those.  Well, atleast I can still eat ordinary food.  I guess it’s only all in my mind, and in my tongue, all those cravings of extra special food.

I Love Association Parties!!!

April 29, 2008

Last Sunday, Nelson and I attended his friend’s association party.

Why I love association parties?

1. The freebies

There are always freebies on assiciation parties.  The last time, we got towels.  This time, we got stainless mugs.  Each person will got one freebies.  Actually, you’ll get even more.

2.  The raffle draw

Yes, there are raffle draw on this kind of party.  Sometimes, you need to buy the ticket.  Sometimes, the tickets would be equally distributed to all.  Well again, sometimes you get more.  Like the party we attended.  Nelson and I got three tickets.  And the best thing is, two of our tickets won two ang-pao worth 500.00 PHP each.

I’ll be looking forward to more association parties to attend :)

Is My Tummy Too Big?

April 26, 2008

Everywhere I go, people are looking at my bulky tummy.  Yeah I know it’s kind of big since I’m a small woman.  But there are more pregnant women who have larger tummy compare to mine.  Last month, my mother and I saw a pregnant woman who was literally holding and lifting her tummy up while walking because it’s too big.  The size of her tummy is double of mine.

I asked my OB if my tummy is really too big.  I also asked if my baby inside is too big.  She just said that maybe it’s just me, my fats.  These past few days, I am eating more rice and felt heavier.  I felt my baby is always awake and is always on the go.  Have I drank too much softdrinks?  I’m not drinking softdrinks anymore.  Well, I drink cold water because it’s so hot hot hot!!!

Anyway, my due date is on June 10, 2008.  Good luck to me…

I "discovered" the gummy bears image when I did tag on my other blog at http://berryblitz79.blogspot.com/2008/03/cool-tag.html

The header might be corny to some but I don’t care.  I love my header :p

Beware of this Potato Corner Cart

April 19, 2008

I have just bought a medium size Potato Corner cheese flavor french fries.  This particular Potato Corner cart is located on the ground floor of Puregold Monumento Caloocan.

I saw my fries came from a transparent plastic container.  But the fries looks like it was already cooked.  It’s kind of curly and when you see it’s color, it’s really in some way previously cooked.  Then the lady poured the fries on a container full of oil.  About the oil, it’s brownish black!!! It looks like the oil has been used for so many days!  I have never seen a Potato Corner cart or branch that uses oil that black!

And the taste, well it tastes just like french fries but not so good.  And doesn’t taste like a Potato Corner french fries at all.  So don’t buy there.

If I can only contact the Potato Corner main branch about this…  I’ll check it later.

I Want Sprite!!!

April 18, 2008

I was drinking cold water when suddenly I thought it was Sprite!

And now, I want to drink Sprite.  I guess I’ll just drink cold water  :(

There’s a Pepsi in the dining table.  But my husband is on the look-out.  He knows I’ll be sipping from the bottle.  And he doesn’t like me to have sodas especially Coke and Pepsi.  A little sip won’t be bad, right?

I’ll just imagine my cold water drink is cold Sprite…
